Unboxing and Review: Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Collection - PAM01768 and PAM01791 (2026)

The Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 and Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791 are the latest additions to the Panerai-Luna Rossa partnership, a collaboration that has been a proving ground for Panerai's modern sports watches. This partnership has resulted in a series of pieces that are unmistakably Panerai but often come with technical touches, from Carbotech and titanium cases to useful complications such as GMTs and chronographs. The Luna Rossa watches have become favorites among Paneristi because they rarely feel like ordinary team editions. The Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 is a purpose-built chronograph, housed in a 44mm steel case, with a silver sun-brushed dial and red details inspired by the Luna Rossa team colors. It features a speed tachymeter scale, which is handy for measuring average speed over a set distance, and works with the central red-and-white chronograph seconds hand to calculate the average speed over one kilometer and display the result directly on the flange in kilometers or miles per hour. The watch is powered by the automatic calibre P.9210, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 42-hour power reserve. It comes with an elastic Velcro strap with a red central stripe and a quick-adjust design, making it perfectly suited for an active sports watch. A black rubber strap is also included. The Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791, on the other hand, is more compact at 40mm and becomes the first Luna Rossa watch to be fitted with a metal bracelet, giving it a sportier and more versatile character. The silver sun-brushed dial has red accents on the small seconds hand and the arrow-shaped GMT hand, which is inspired by the sail of the Luna Rossa yacht. It is powered by the automatic P.900/GMT calibre with a three-day power reserve and a 12-hour second-time-zone display. Both watches are water-resistant to 100 meters and feature Panerai's PAM Click release system for easy strap changes. The Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 is a limited edition of 500 pieces, priced at EUR 11,200, and comes in a deluxe blue cherry wood box. The Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791 joins the regular collection at EUR 11,100 and comes in Panerai's standard recycled-paper box with a travel pouch. These watches are a testament to Panerai's ability to blend technical innovation with the timeless design of the Luminor family, making them desirable for both sports enthusiasts and watch collectors alike.
